This week was full of community conversations. With Team Psychedelic's latest Town Hall meeting, the DFINITY Foundation's first R&D Zoom call, and tons of updates from dapps and NFT projects across the entire ICP ecosystem, there was certainly a lot to talk about. Let's get into it:

πŸ“’ Hear Ye, Hear Ye: Psychedelic, a developer collective with a huge presence on the Internet Computer (their portfolio includes Plug wallet, Sonic DEX, ICNS domain service, DAB data registry, and many other well-known projects), held their second Town Hall meeting on July 29th.

While the Twitter Space covered a variety of topics, the majority of post-meeting discussions revolved around whether or not Psychedelic's team presented their points in a contentious manner. All's well that ends well, however, as Psychedelic's Harrison Hines publicly apologized and acknowledged the need to adjust his public tone.

πŸ§ͺ Zoom Zoom: The DFINITY Foundation held the first of their monthly global R&D Zoom calls on July 27th. Missed the event? Subscribe to our newsletter if you haven't already, so you don't miss the next one. In the meantime, you can watch the event recording here:

🀝 Team Work Makes the Dream Work: Prominent community voice (and Dfinity Community team member) @DukakisTejada outlined in a Twitter thread how a marketing working group could work, and what key points it would need to target. DFINITY showed support in the iniative. If you are someone with experience and passion for the IC, this could be a great time to start participating.

🎨 I See Art: Yumi Marketplace is hosting a virtual Art Festival this month, showcasing artists from around the globe. The event itinerary extends for the entirety of August, and will feature "generation art, 3D models, hand-drawing, illustration, fashion wear NFT, and dynamic hip-hop play. In addition, the types of activities of this festival include Fan-art, AMA, Art Festival Proof of Purchase, etc." (source: Yumi's Medium). Follow Yumi on Twitter for updates!

πŸ‘― Squad Up!: The first (and currently only) engage-to-earn NFT project on the Internet Computer, dSquad, has been ramping up their gameplay in recent weeks. The project won first place in the NFT/Metaverse category in the Supernova hackathon, and is demonstrating why they won over so many other great entrants. The engagement model is simple, you engage with the IC ecosystem and get rewarded for it, while also helping the ICP burn rate. Their first leaderboard contest ended on the last day of July but it's not too late to join in on the fun (and earn!). August's event will distribute over $35k worth of prizes.

🐢 Max Woofing: Although the Internet Computer community congregates on IC social media dapps like DSCVR, Distrikt, and OpenChat, the larger crypto community is primarily active on Twitter (also referred to as CT--Crypto Twitter). This means that inevitably, a large chunk of the conversations surrounding ICP also happen on Twitter. To make it easier to stay up to date on the most pertinent conversations, the Dogfinity team has created a bot that publishes the top ICP related tweets. This is the second public service Twitter bot that the Dogfinity NFT project has provided for the larger Internet Computer community; the first was @icpnftdogbot, which tracks NFT activity like volume and major sales.

✍️ Redrawing the Map: Last but certainly not least, DFINITY's July update regarding the Internet Computer roadmap is one you should read. It covered updates on the upcoming SNS and the newly announced ICRC-1 token standard (which is the official Foundation-backed fungible token standard). Most importantly, July's update details how the DFINITY Foundation is changing its roadmap approach:

Starting in 2019, paving the way to Genesis in 2020 and beyond, we defined milestones named after metals that bundled sets of features. For example, the Titanium milestone included features A, B, C, Chromium included D, E, etc. Going forward, we will drop the concept of milestones and instead maintain stack-ranked lists of features associated with domains.
